DOT Tanks: Department of Transportation Specification Cargo Tanks, refers to DOT 406, DOT 407, DOT 412 tanks. As a DOT tank manufacturer, we are required to hold a valid ASME "U" stamp and be registered with the Federal Department of Transportation as a registered inspector.

We also do annual DOT retests as required by CFR 49, 180.407, tests and retests of specification cargo tanks. Tests include: external visual inspection, internal visual inspection, leakage test, pressure test, thickness test, lining test, and the wet flourescent mag particle test. Specification cargo tanks included in these tests are: MC 304, MC 306, MC 307, MC 330, MC 331, DOT 406, DOT 407, and DOT 412.

ASME: Refers to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, which regulates the manufacturing of pressure vessels under section VIII, as required by CFR 49 with certain exceptions. To do repairs to ASME Pressure Vessels we are required to hold a valid National Board "R" stamp and be registered with the Federal Department of Transportation as an inspector.

UL 142: Refers to the Underwriters Laboratory section 142 for the manufacturing of aboveground storage vessels for flamable products, including: vertical, horizontal, and dike tanks.

AWWA Standard: The purpose of this standard is to provide guidance to facilitate the design, manufacture, and procurement of welded steel tanks for the storage of water.

API Standard 650: This standard is designed to provide the petroleum industry with tanks of adequate safety and reasonable economy for use in the storage of petroleum, petroleum products, and other liquid products commonly handled and stored by the various branches of the industry.
